You do not have to take our word for it. This page walks through what your child can and cannot do, how an answer actually gets checked before it reaches them, and what controls you have as a parent.
Your child can type a math problem directly, or take a photo of a worksheet and crop it down to the one problem they need help with.
Your child types the problem directly, or snaps a photo of their worksheet with a phone.
For a scanned photo, there is a crop step. Your child drags a box around just the problem they are working on before anything else happens.
The numbers in the answer come from code built to compute and check that specific problem, not from a model guessing.
A language model writes the step-by-step explanation around the verified numbers, in language suited to your child's grade.
This is not a general chat assistant with a math skin on it. The only thing it accepts is a math problem. There is no open-ended conversation, no asking about other topics, no messaging other people. If a child's input is not a math problem, the tutor will not engage with it as one.
Every answer your child sees is run through code in the app built to verify that specific kind of math problem. The language model writes the explanation, but it does not get to invent the numbers. If the verification step cannot confirm an answer, the tutor will say it cannot help with that one rather than show something that might be wrong. We would rather say "I can't verify this" than show a confident wrong answer.
Each child has a daily question limit, five by default. You can raise it, lower it, from the parent settings area. It resets every day.
Parent settings sit behind a PIN you choose. Your child cannot get into grade settings, limits, or account controls without it.
Inside the parent area you can suspend your household's access whenever you want, and reactivate it just as easily, no need to contact support for either.
Every explanation has a thumbs up / thumbs down control, so your child (or you) can flag an explanation that missed the mark.
Your child is known inside the app by a nickname and a grade level, nothing more. We do not ask for a real name, school, or photo identity. Data is stored in a hosted Postgres database (Supabase) that only our application server can reach directly, never a public connection. We do not sell or share your family's data with third parties.
