Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This page explains, in plain English, what EquationExplorer collects about your family, why, where it lives, and how you can get it deleted. If you want the short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a safe math tutor, we never sell it, and we never ask for your child's real name.

Draft notice: this page is a draft written for review. It is not legal advice. Shank should have it checked by a lawyer before this site goes live for real families.

What we collect, and why

Your email address (the parent)

When you create a parent account, we collect your email address. We use it to sign you in, to send account related messages such as password resets, and to contact you if there is a problem with your account. We do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Your child's nickname and grade

You choose a nickname for each child when you set up their account. We ask you not to use your child's real name. We also store the grade level you select (roughly grades 3 to 7), because the tutor uses it to pitch explanations at the right level. We never ask for a child's last name, school, address, or any other identifying detail.

The problems and messages your child submits

When your child types a math problem, or scans one with a photo, we store the problem text and the conversation that follows so the tutor can walk through the steps and so you can review it as a parent. A scanned photo goes through a crop step on the child's device, then is used to read the problem and is not kept as a permanent photo library.

Usage counts

We track how many questions each child has asked that day, because there is a daily question limit per child (five by default). This is a simple counter, not a behavior profile.

Thumbs up / thumbs down feedback

If your child taps thumbs up or thumbs down on an explanation, we store that rating against the explanation it was attached to. This helps us see where the tutor is doing well and where it needs to improve.

Waitlist email

If you joined the waitlist before creating an account, we stored the email address you gave us so we could let you know when access opened up. If you go on to create a parent account with a different email, the two are not automatically linked.

Where this data lives

All of it is stored in Supabase, a hosted Postgres database. Only our application server talks to that database directly, using credentials that never reach a browser. Your child's device and your device talk to our server, and our server talks to the database. There is no direct public connection to the data store.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any of the information above to third parties, for advertising or any other purpose. Explanations shown to your child are written by a language model, but the numbers in every answer come from code we run and verify ourselves, not from the model guessing, and that verification step does not involve sharing your data with anyone outside the app.

We keep children's data minimal, on purpose

A child's account is identified by a nickname and a grade level only. We deliberately do not collect, and do not want, a child's real name, date of birth, school, photo of their face, or location. The one photo we do touch is a worksheet photo, cropped down to the single problem being solved, which exists to read the problem text, not to identify a child.

Who can see what

A parent can see their own child's usage, grade level, and settings inside the parent area, which is protected by a PIN the parent sets. Our team can access account data to operate the service, investigate abuse, or respond to a support request, and we can suspend an account if we need to. We do not give any other parent, child, or outside party access to another family's data.

Requesting deletion

A parent can request deletion of their account and their children's data at any time by emailing us atteam@web3metagrowth.io. Tell us the parent email on the account and that you would like it deleted. We will remove the account, the associated child profiles, their problem history, and their usage records. Some minimal records may be kept briefly where we are required to for fraud prevention or legal reasons, and nothing beyond that.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let account holders know by email.
